VISION
To promote Research activities among faculty and students in the areas of interdisciplinary research and development by providing seed funds for implementing their innovative ideas and product development through incubation and startup centers.
MISSION
- To motivate faculty and students to undertake research and development activities.
- To encourage interdisciplinary R&D projects leading to solutions to real world problems through synthesis of diverse ideas and skills.
- To assist the faculty, Ph.D. scholars and students to apply for funding under various Government, Professional Chapter or Private sector schemes.
- To register under Intellectual Property Rights like Patents & copyright the outcome of R&D work carried out by the faculty and students of the Institution.
- To facilitate signing of MOU linkage with industries and R&D organizations for research and product development.

Dr. G N Kodanda Ramaiah is a Professor and Head of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Kuppam Engineering College, Kuppam affiliated to JNTU Ananthapur. He is obtained the B.E degree in Instrumentation & Technology and M.Tech degree in Bio Medical Instrumentation from Sri J C College of Engineering, Mysore affiliated to Mysore University. He is obtained Ph.D. in Signal Processing from JNTU Ananthapur. He is presented 15 International Conferences, published 22 International Journals and One Patent approved and 4 in process. Functions & Responsibilities:
- To identify the potential areas of research in various disciplines of engineering and coordinate the research and consultancy activities among all the departments in the institute.
- Scrutinize research proposals submitted by the faculty members and students and also recommended the potential proposals to submit to the funding agencies such as DST, UEC, AICTE,MISTE, IE(I),SERO, etc,
Support the faculty members / students to obtain the intellectual property rights (IPR) for their innovative project ideas on research outcomes. - Motivate and support the faculty members / students to publish research projects in
Peer-reviewed international journals and also attend the national/international conference. - Encourage the faculty members to attend various research oriented FDP’S, seminars, workshops etc. And also encourage students to participate in workshops , seminars, project expo”s , internships, training programs etc.
- To create awareness about filing Patents & IPR

New Gen IEDC
New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NewGen IEDC) is the programme launched by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. NewGen IEDC was established in Kuppam Engineering College in 2017 headed by Dr. G.N. Kodanda Ramaiah, R&D Director & HOD/ECE. DST, NSTEDB, Government of India had sanctioned Rs. 2.87 Crores for five years 2017-2022 for establishment of New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, where each student innovative project given seed fund of Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
NewGen IEDC will aim to inculcate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the young S&T students, encourage and support start-up creation through guidance, mentorship and support. The programme will be implemented in academic institutions. Students will be encouraged to take up innovative projects with the possibility of commercialization. KEC NewGen IEDC has a mission to “Promote knowledge-based and technology-driven start-ups by connecting young minds and their innovation potential in an academic environment”. NewGen IEDCs would also spread the message of entrepreneurship and create a culture of entrepreneurship in the Host Institution (HI). Faculty already trained in the nuances of entrepreneurship, the presence of NewGen IEDCs in HI would create a vibrant entrepreneurial culture amongst the students. Few amongst the “Job-Seekers” would be converted to “Job-Generators” through the entrepreneurial route.

MSME - BI
The institute has established the MSME Business Incubation Centre – Host Institute to provide opportunities for innovators to develop and nurture their new innovative ideas for the opportunities production of new innovative products. Host Institution (HI) can explore new innovative ideas from the Incubatee of various sectors which may be entrepreneurs or students from any stream of engineering. The ideas will be funded by MSME.
Activities / Nature of assistance:
- Approval of Ideas of Incubatees of Host Institute.
- Financial assistance of up to 15 lakh for developing and nurturing of an idea.r the year
Who Can Apply?
Students/Entrepreneurs of the Institute such as Technical colleges, Universities, other professional colleges/institutes, R&D institutes, NGOs involved in relevant activities, EDCs of O/o DC (MSME), MSME-DIs/Technology Centers (TCs), DICs or any Institute/Organization of Central/State Govt.
